My  contract  had  recently  expired  and  I  was  in  the  process  of  purchasing  a  new  cell  phone.

I  was  deciding  between  the  Nokia  N95,  BlackBerry  Curve  and  the  iPhone.

Needless  to  say  these  are  probably  the  top  3  most  popular  phones.  Although  I  had  also  considered  the  Samsung  Instinct.

Without  further ado, I give  my  answer.

Absolutely  the  best  phone  to  purchase  that  gives  you  the  best  value,  has  got  to  be  the  Nokia  N95  8GB!

Why?  You  ask.

Here  is  why.

BlackBerry  Curve
Cost:  $150  with  a  3  year  plan,  $500  without.
the  BlackBerry  Curve  has  fantastic  E-mail  features  and  the  Qwerty  keyboard.  For  those  who  uses  e-mails  often  and  send  text  messages,  then  this  is  the  phone  for  you.  Technically,  BlackBerries  are  the  best  when  it  comes  to  those  who  send  and  receive  e-mails  often.  This  is  the  only  advantage  this  phone  has  over  the  other  two  phones.  The  BlackBerries  are  designed  for  those  who  work  24hrs  a  day!

iPhone
Cost:  $300-$600  with  plan,  $700  without.
I  believe  this  phone  is  over-hyped.  The  phone  looks  nice  and  is  a sell  out,  but  what  can  it  really  do.  Compare  to  the  Nokia  N95  and  the  BlackBerry  Curve,  it  really  offers  no many  features.  It  has  a  nice  look  and  easy  navigation  because  it  is  touch  screen.  The  e-mail  is  nowhere  nearly  as  good  as  the  BlackBerry  Curve  because  the  iPhone  uses  a  pull  system  rather  than  a  push  system.  The  iPhone  doesn't  have  the  Qwerty  keyboard.  You  would  only  buy  this  iPhone  because  it  is  sleek  looking  and  you  want  to  be  the  coollest  guy  on  the  block.  Since  this  phone  is  a  sellout,  there  must  be  a  lot  of   those.

Nokia  N95  8GB
Cost  $80-$150  with  a  3  year  plan,  $700  without.
I  purchased  this  and  I  was  absolutely  amazed  with  what  it  can  offer.

First,  it  comes  with the  highest  end  camera  any  cell  phone  provides,  5.0  Megapixels  by  Carl  Zeiss.  Now  the  camera  is  obviously  not  better  than  the  gadgets  that  only  specialize  in taking  pictures.  But  I  am  decently  satisfied  with  the  picture  this  cell  phone  offers.  Why  spend  the  money  to  buy  another  camera  when  I  don't  have  to.

Second,  the  GPS  capability  is  much  better  then  both  the  iPhone  and  BlackBerry.  If  you  just  want  to  use  the  GPS  alone,  it  is  free.  It  took  me  two  days  to  figure  out  how  to  set  it  up,  but  that  is  just  due  to  my  lack  of  knowledge  in  how  GPS  works.  If  you  want  faster  a  response  time  to  the  GPS,  enable  A-GPS,  and  you'll  receive  the  response  time  in  seconds.  However,  Enabling  A-GPS  has   network  service cost,  but  this  is  still  better  then  the  iPhone  and  BlackBerry  which  doesn't  that  option.

(If  you  like  more  information  on  how  to  set  up  the  GPS  on  your  Nokia  N95,  simply  respond  to  this  topic)

Thirdly,  the  Nokia  N95  has  features  that  the  other  cell  phones  don't  offer  like  radio,  you  can  conveniently  buy  new  batteries  for  this  phone  and  a  bunch  of  connection options  like  WLAN.  This  means  you  can  connect  to  your  router.

Dollar  for  Dollar,  the  Nokia  N95  8GB  offers  more  features  and  can  cost  less  than  the  other  phones.  Although  this  is  probably  the  least  popular,  it  is,  in  my  opinion  the  best  out  there,  yet.

Having  said  that,  each  phone  does  cater  to  a  target  audience.  The  BlackBerry  Curve  is  designed  for  workers  who  need  to  send  and  receive  e-mails  all  the  time.  The  iPhone  is  designed  for  people  who  want  to  be  cool  :)  and  at  least,  enjoy  the  ease  of  use  the  iPhone  offers.  The  Nokia  N95  are  for  those  who  want  entertainment  and  personal  use.
